While action and feel is subjective. We have designed our glass and graphite rods with the following in mind:

Our original Steffen Brothers Heritage Glass is slightly quicker than medium glass action and very pleasant to cast. If this is your first glass rod, and you have only cast mass produced graphite rods, then these may be perceived as slow. Don't let the reserve power fool you ;)

Steffen Brothers graphite fly rods can be described as moderate rods. This means they have great feel in the back cast for relaxed dry fly casting. They are more crisp than the glass rods and have excellent recovery (no wobble). When more line is let out, folks are surprised in the reserve power and crispness of them. They are some of the finest graphite rods on the market.

SPIGOT FERRULES?

Our glass rods feature spigot ferrules. When assembled, spigot ferrules have a gap between rod sections.
